Vivekananda Mission Asram Sikshayatan (Primary Section), a self –financed school consists of a special co-educational Pre-primary Section (established in 1976) and a Primary Section (established in 1980) affiliated by Directorate of School Education, Govt. of West Bengal in 2018 upto Class IV. At present the total number of students is nearly 1150. The results of the institution are excellent, with almost all the students securing above 85% marks.
Vivekananda Mission Asram is situated at Viveknagar( Rampur ) near Chaitanyapur to the north-west of Haldia Port. It stands on the Road that runs from Chaitanyapur to Kukrahati. It is about a 7-minute walk from Chaitanyapur.
The Sikshayatan is one of the institutions of the Vivekananda Mission Asram where an attempt is made to impart an all-round education to the children. Swamiji said, "The idea of all education and training should be man-making.” This is the ideal and; efforts are made to put it into effect. Here students are encouraged and trained to grow in all directions- physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual.
The Session begins in January and gets over in December every year.
Applications for admission are to be made on prescribed Forms which may be had from the Office of the Sikshayatan between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on any working day in September & October every year. The last date of submission of the Application Forms and the dates of the Aptitude Test are notified in Time. Selection of students from KG-I to Class – IV is made on the basis of an Aptitude Test.

We have a well-equipped library with updated /current Magazines, as well as good number of Reference Books, Text Books and Story Books. In future we are going to possess a more furnished library, and we also intend to develop a digital library.

Guardians will have to comply if the Sikshayatan Authority requests any guardian to withdraw his/her ward from the School for any reason (which may or may not be disclosed) at any time of the year.
Guardians intending to withdraw their wards from the school, will have to apply to the Headmaster with the requisite fees of next six Calendar months/to the end of the session (whichever will be less) along with TC fees (Rs. - ) at the time of application.
Under unavoidable circumstances if guardians want to withdraw their wards from school in the very next session, they must inform the Headmaster by October of the running session.
Our school features two spacious prayer halls where students gather daily from Monday to Saturday. Arranged beautifully in order of their classes from youngest to oldest, they stand before the sacred portraits of various deities, uniting their voices in a different devotional hymn each day.

Here, group-based Spoken English classes are conducted to enhance students' creativity and speaking ability.
Additionally, workshops are regularly organized where students write their own rhymes, poems, stories, and travelogues, guided by skilled teachers. They also create their own illustrations based on these writings to further develop their talents.
Here, students participate in class-wise cultural competitions featuring events like drawing, music, dance, recitation, yogasana, handwriting, storytelling, and quiz. Winners are honoured with attractive prizes in a grand ceremony attended by distinguished guests.
We conduct Children's Festival dedicated to nurturing the creativity and talents of young minds. Through fun-filled activities, games, and cultural performances, this festival creates a vibrant environment where every child feels special, encouraged, and celebrated.
At Special Hobby, students get the perfect platform to sharpen their talents based on their personal interests. The institution offers specialized training in various creative fields, including music, dance, drama, recitation, collage, and yoga. At the conclusion of the Bratachari training, the unique experiences, thoughts, and reflections written by the students themselves are beautifully showcased in a wall magazine titled 'Shibir Barta'
Every year students who show their excellence in Academic, Cultural and sports Activities are rewarded with medals, certificates and material prizes in different areas/activities.
Every year Examinations are periodically held with 3 Unit Test (except KG-I), the Half-yearly as well as the Annual Examinations for the students up to IV Standard.
• Class-wise Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM): Held twice a year, or more frequently if necessary.
• Regular Updates: Apart from PTMs, guardians are regularly updated to ensure the better overall development and character building of the students.
• Remedial Classes: Parents can attend remedial classes with their children to gain a better understanding of their learning progress.
